Everyone wants to be successful! But, I’ve found out that God’s definition of success is way different than mine. Success, to God, is doing His will. Because His will for us is the best, out of all possible options. Most of us miss one of the great paradoxes of life. We mistakenly believe the doorway to success is through our strengths. It’s not! Our strengths are far more dangerous than our weaknesses, providing the easiest way for us to fail. In our strength, we often forget God. But, in our weakness we learn to lean upon Jesus, in order to receive the strength we need. Humility comes from embracing our weaknesses, and relying on God’s strength. It’s only when we embrace the humility of Jesus, that the irresistible grace of God is released in us. The Bible says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” If pride is resistible, then humility must be irresistible. If we humble ourselves, God will activate the His irresistible grace in our lives.
