God didn’t spare His heroes in the Bible when He revealed, not just their successes, but their failures as well. You can tell the Bible is real because you would never talk about your heroes the way the Bible talks about its heroes. God didn’t spare them. I believe it models how we should look at our lives as well. It will enable us to model the reality, “If God could do it for me, He can do it for you. If God could rescue me, He can rescue you.” There’s a price to pay for each of us in sharing our own journey, warts and all, in a transparent way.
